Wishing on the Moon for the New Year

 Did you know that the New Moon of January is one of the most powerful moons to wish on throughout the year? It will fall on Tuesday January 4th, so now would be a good time to start thinking about what you would like to manifest in the Springtime. Each month's full moon has different names according to different cultures. The January Moon is called "The Full Wolf Moon" according to various Native American tribes. So, family, communication, traveling, nurturing, teaching are just some aspects related to wolves which might be a good base to think about when you make a wish. I like what Waverly Fitzgerald from "School of the Seasons" says about wishing;

 "To be good at wishing, practice wishing as you would any skill. Wish with no concern for reality. Too often our friends, our relatives or our inner
critics try to restrict our wishes by pointing out that they’re impractical or impossible. This is a space where you can wish away, free from any constraints."
So, in other word's let your imaginations take you where you want to go. I know some people who have created specific rituals just for wishing. She suggests that you can divide your wishes for different areas of your life and then if you'd like to journal them to see how they are manifested throughout the year. These are some of the different categories she's thought of;

SPIRITUALITY

CAREER

RELATIONSHIPS

HEALTH

FAMILY
LEISURE

Being an animal lover, I will make wishes for animals and nature and the earth in general. And of course I would include my two beloved cats for the "family" wish.

You can create a wish page on your blog if you have one and if you don't know about Jamie Ridler and her Wishcasting Wednesday's be sure to check that out. She provides wish "prompts" every Wednesday that you can post about on your blog if you "wish" and then visit other blogs to support them for their Wednesday Wishes. Jamie also holds a Full Moon Dreamboard event which is run virtually and costs nothing to you. Or if you live in or near the Toronto area, she also runs a Full Moon Dreamboard circle which I would love to attend if I lived closer.

 So, these are some ways that I'm starting off my magickal work for the New Year. Do you have any rituals or ways to wish? I'd love to hear about them.

Wishing you a year full of beauty and blessings. And thank you all for being such loyal and wonderful readers of eWitch.

What a wonderful post!

I usually start out my wishes with thanks of what I already have and what wishs have already come true for myself and others. I wish for the stars and can always expect at least a little stardust to fall :).

Happy 2011!

This is such a wonderful post. I am always terrified I will wish wrong and get more than what I expect. I'm going to set my heart right and work with your suggestions.

And wishing for everyone a blessed and wonderful new year.

The new moon was the first phase I celebrated as a new Pagan. I took my neices to the river to pick out white rocks and each one had a wish placed upon it and then were left at the foot of a willow tree.

My one neice said she used all her wishes on the same thing - that her dad (my brother) would come home from working out of town and not go away again. Two months later he did, and found a job that he still loves today.

That was proof enough for me that the New Moon was powerful!

Blessings to you in 2011~!

lovely blog you have. I really liked your 'about me' section. Very lyrical and touching. Are you a fan of the Arthurian legend? and why do you so love New Mexico?

My name is Selma Espinosa I'm a 46 years old mother with 3 adorable kids and I have been married for 17 years now. After the birth of our last daughter 2 years ago, I noticed something about my husband that was completely different. He comes home late every night, sleeps on the couch never in the bedroom with me and doesn't give attention to me or the kids. I remember the night he came home drunk and told me he was no longer attracted to me after I had kids.
I cried myself to sleep that night, I could not believe that the man I have loved all my life will someday stopped loving me. Just few days to our wedding anniversary, he stopped coming home and would not take my calls. I had to talk to a friend and she suggested I contact a spell caster who could help me bring back his love and attention. It was the first time I heard such stuff existed, I give it a try with high expectations. After my contact with the Priest spellcaster, he helped me cast a spell that made my husband return home to me and our kids. I know a lot of people need this to help them stay happy in their marriages. You can contact Priest Obongibok let him help you; write him on email OBONGIBOK@PRIEST.COM or WhatsApp +13612367973.
